Fetal Echocardiography: Overview
Fetal echocardiography is a detailed examination of the baby's cardiac structures and rhythm. It may be recommended when additional assessment is indicated because of family history, diabetes, certain medications, ultrasound findings or screening results.
How is the assessment planned?
Each procedure and follow-up plan is individualized by considering gestational age, the mother’s medical history, previous pregnancies, current ultrasound findings and any available screening results together.
